Hi! My name is Stanley, and I’m here to help you achieve your college aspirations.

I’m a lifelong educator. After graduating from the University of Southern California (USC) with both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degree, I started my journey in education as a high school teacher in the Los Angeles Unified School District, where I taught AP U.S. History, American Government, and Economics. Teaching was such a joy, as the interactions I had with my students enabled me to do what I do best - develop and make meaningful connections with them.

While teaching, I started to develop a deeper interest in college counseling, as in addition to writing many letters of recommendation for my students, I also had the privilege of assisting them with their college applications. This led me to USC, where I worked as an Assistant Director of Admissions for three years, recruiting and reading applications for students from some of the most competitive high schools in the South Bay (Los Angeles) area, Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi, Tennessee, and South Carolina (that’s over 4,500 applications…but who’s counting?).

I loved working for my alma mater, but I felt like it was time to further develop my passion in admissions work. I decided to combine my previous experiences as a teacher and admissions professional and started working as a College Counselor at the Pacific American School (PAS) in Hsinchu, Taiwan. While living and working in Taiwan, I gained valuable insights and best practices into what it means to achieve and perform at a highly competitive international high school, where the majority of my students matriculated to schools such as UCLA, USC, Cornell, UPenn, Georgia Tech, University of Vancouver, Carnegie Mellon, NYU, Boston University, UIUC, among other highly selective institutions.

Following my journey in Taiwan, I wanted to further expand my interests in admissions work, specifically in the space of international admissions. I moved back home to take a job at Pomona College, one of the top Liberal Arts and Science Colleges in the USA. Here, I worked in international admissions, reading and recruiting applicants from competitive markets such as China, India, and Central Asia.

With my experiences and skills in both higher education admissions and college counseling, I will provide you with one-on-one guidance that is dedicated to you and your success. I look forward to working with you every step of the way in your college application journey!
