Transfer Students
This is a comprehensive transfer counseling package where I will walk you through everything you need to know about the transfer process. Perhaps you’re a student at a community college looking to transfer to a 4-year university. Or are you a student at a 4-year college looking for new challenges elsewhere?
During my time at both USC and Pomona College, I have worked with over a thousand prospective transfer students. With my in-depth knowledge of the transfer process, I will be able to offer you a complete end-to-end transfer application counseling.

The transfer review process is quite different from the first year review process. While the application itself is similar, what colleges look for, value, and prioritize varies greatly. When I worked at USC, I probably did over 200 Trojan Transfer Plan (TTP) meetings with prospective USC transfers. I'll apply my direct skillset into shaping your transfer application into the compelling for admission. I also have experience in the UC application process, as well as other private colleges (Northwestern, Cornell, Princeton, BU, NYU, and others). The transfer process is all about planning, so let's get started today!

Ongoing Meetings
I meet with my transfer students at least once a month. Together, we will take inventory of your academic history, create goals for your transfer journey, and devise a personalized transfer plan to ensure your success. In addition to our monthly check-ins, my phone number/email is open to you 24/7.
-
Essay Guidance
I will guide you in learning how to craft memorable Personal Statements and Supplemental Essays for each transfer application. Having both read/evaluate over 2,000 transfer essays and helping to brainstorm, edit, and revise essays as as college counselor, we will work together to write reflective and thoughtful essays that will show your depth, maturity, your way of thinking, and why you deserve to transfer in.

Formulating a Compelling College Application Strategy
I have a specialty in community college transfer students, but I’ve also successfully helped 4-year college students transfer into their dream institution. Transfer admission is a different process than first years, as colleges are more nuanced in their shaping of the transfer class. What that means for you is that the ‘criteria’ is different, but don’t worry - you will give me your list of colleges and I will work on implementing a strategy for your success.
-
Interview Coaching and Resume Builder
Many colleges offer the opportunity to do an in-person or virtual interview as part of their application process. During my time at USC (when they still offered interviews as an option), I conducted over 200 interviews with prospective students. I will lead you in mock interview sessions and give you insight into what we look for during this process, as well as how you can position yourself to being memorable.
-
Extracurricular Activities
Do colleges still care about your extracurricular activities as a transfer student? What should you be doing this year? How should you be spending your time? We’ll work on a plan to make your transfer application more compelling.

Interested in transferring to USC?
Because of my experiences, I have a particular specialty in helping students transfer to a University of California (UC) school and the University of Southern California (USC). If these schools are your dream institutions, please let me know in our initial meeting!
