Frequently Asked Questions

  • The College Application process is subjective. There is no formula that will guarantee admission to any selective university in the USA. And as admission rates go down every year, more and more families are starting to wonder what it will take for their student to be competitive in order to gain admission to a selective institution. That’s where independent educational consultant steps in.

  • As you research and find independent college counselors, there is a common theme that exists: many of them have zero experience working in admission offices, let alone experience working with high school students.

I will meet you where you’re at and fill in all the gaps. With my experience in both the high school and higher education setting, I have the necessary background in developing a comprehensive and holistic strategy to your college application process. I will identify and highlight areas of concern in order to strengthen your application. We will brainstorm and edit your essays together. I will prepare you for your college interviews and guide you on all things/activities outside of the classroom. I will lead you through case studies and mock admission committees. The firsthand insights you’ll gain from a former admissions officer will give you that extra edge.

  • There is NO service out there that will guarantee admission to any selective college/university (and to be quite frank, if you come across a counselor claiming they will guarantee their services, I would stay far, far away from them). But what I can guarantee to you is that I will use all of my experiences as both an admissions professional and college counselor to ensure that you submit the most competitive and compelling application to your list of colleges.

  • I'm very fortunate to have received so much interest in just my first year of independent college counseling! I am a one-person-show; I work directly with my parents and students to ensure a close and meaningful relationship throughout our time together. My capacity will really depend on how many high school seniors I have, so please do not hesitate to reach out to me to see if I still have space available!

  • I want to be fully transparent about my prices. In my research, I found that many websites/education companies do not post their prices publicly, instead, offering a ‘free consultation’ and using that meeting to determine their pricing structure for you (variable pricing). Others charge by how many applications you need help with and upcharge from there (for example, they offer application counseling for $4000, but if you need assistance with interviews or extracurricular activities or need to apply to more colleges, that will be an additional $2000 per component). And that’s just the start of it.

While that may be a fine option for some, I want to take the hassle out of the process, which is why all of my services come at a flat rate for 24/7 unlimited email/texts, unlimited counseling, and no time limit. And as a newcomer to the independent college counseling world, I’m aiming to offer my services at a lower price than others. As you shop around and determine which counselor is best for your student, I hope you’ll consider my student-centered approach, coupled with my real-life experience working in highly-selective admissions!

  • The primary difference between the flat rate and hourly rate is that the flat rate (College Counseling Package) is fully comprehensive, offering application strategy/insights, full essays edits and revisions on all applications, and complete end-to-end counseling assistance.
